The Pavilion at John Knox Village

This versatile venue is a well-loved and recognized landmark in Lee’s Summit and one of Kansas City’s premier event venues. This event space inspires events of every style – elegant receptions, sit-down dinners, corporate kick-offs, conferences, concerts, even craft and trade shows.

  • Capacity for more between 150 and 600 banquet-style seated guests, or 1,500 for theatre-style seating.

Manhattan Room at Places Restaurant

This venue is a bit more intimate, while every bit as versatile as our larger venues. The dance floor and flexible floor plan create the perfect space for receptions, reunions, celebrations and company parties – as well as business and school events.

Missouri Room

This venue is truly a room with a view as you and your guests will love looking out at the lake and scenic golf course. From casual business and social gatherings to formal dinner parties and corporate functions, this is the natural setting.

The Chapel at John Knox Village

The nondenominational chapel is picture-perfect for brides and grooms from across Kansas City. Greet your guests at a reception in a nearby venue at the Village instead of driving across town. Ceremony and reception packages are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your catering policy?
From gourmet dinners to box lunches and concessions, John Knox Village offers full-service catering and holds licenses from the state of Missouri, Jackson County and the city of Lee’s Summit. Outside catering is allowed if provided by a licensed catering service, holding proper food permits and proof of insurance.
Is bar service available?
Flexible bar packages are available through our fully licensed beverage catering service. Hosted and cash bar options are available. All alcohol has to be provided and served by John Knox Village.
What about décor?
The standard rate for The Pavilion includes four hours to decorate and set up to your desires and specifications, with a staff member present to answer questions. If additional set-up time is needed, provisions to your contract can be made at additional cost.

For other rooms, two hours of decorating is included.

Candles are permitted upon approval, as long as it’s not an open flame.

We have multiple event-planning contracts throughout the Kansas City area to help meet your decorating needed.

Do you provide in-house DJ services?
Our production staff can provide special lighting effects and wireless microphones if needed for your event. However, The Pavilion at John Knox Village doesn’t provide DJ services.
Is a deposit required?
For The Pavilion at John Knox Village, once you’ve selected a date, a 25% non-refundable deposit will hold the space for you. The balance will need to be paid 30 days prior to the event.

For all other venues, 100% of the balance is required at the time you sign the contract.
